Every piece of content on Hespere is written to genuinely help the reader — not to fill a page, drive a click, or promote a product we do not believe in.

Our editorial mission

Hespere exists to publish clear, high-value beauty and skincare content that helps readers solve problems, understand products, and build routines that are effective, realistic, and sustainable.

We measure the quality of our content by one standard: does it help the reader make a better decision than they could have made without it?

How we select products

Every product featured on Hespere is selected based on the following criteria:

  • Ingredient quality — we review the full ingredient list, not just the hero ingredients on the packaging
  • Formulation — concentration, pH where relevant, texture, and compatibility with other products
  • Value for money — we consider cost per use, not just sticker price
  • Skin type fit — we specify which skin types a product suits and which it does not
  • Availability — we prioritise products that are widely accessible

Products are not featured because a brand has reached out, sent samples, or offered payment. Commercial arrangements are handled separately and always disclosed.

How we evaluate ingredients

Our ingredient coverage is guided by published dermatological research and peer-reviewed clinical evidence. We aim to:

  • Accurately represent what the evidence says an ingredient can and cannot do
  • Specify effective concentrations where known
  • Note contraindications and interactions with other ingredients
  • Distinguish between well-evidenced claims and marketing language

We do not overstate ingredient efficacy. If the evidence is mixed or limited, we say so.

Editorial independence

Hespere operates independently. Our editorial decisions are not influenced by advertising, affiliate arrangements, brand partnerships, or any other commercial relationship.

  • We do not accept payment to feature products in editorial content
  • Sponsored content is always clearly labelled
  • Affiliate links are disclosed on every page where they appear
  • Brands do not have the right to review or approve editorial content before publication unless it is a paid sponsored piece

Accuracy and updates

We review our content regularly to ensure it remains accurate and up to date. Product formulations change, new research emerges, and products are discontinued. When we become aware of material changes we update the relevant articles and note the revision date.

Prices referenced in our content are accurate at the time of publication but may change. We recommend checking the retailer directly for current pricing.

Corrections policy

If you believe something we have published is factually incorrect, outdated, or misleading, please contact us via our contact page with the article URL and a description of the issue.

We review all correction requests and will update the article promptly if an error is confirmed. Significant corrections are noted within the article itself.
